Create a Forest with Adobe Photoshop

If you guys have photoshop and want to create a forest from scratch, well, listen up and follow some simple directions. Its fairly simple and once you get used to it, you’ll be like, wow that was easy. It may not look like something you will do every single day, but its something worth trying just for the fun of it. :)

I hope you will enjoy this tutorial.

STEP BY STEP

1. Create a new layer, 640×480 and fill it with #44701f or a green color.

2. Use the Brush tool with a brush size of 500. Use the soft one where the edges are fuzzy and use the color #97b84f.

3. Go to the top left and click only once.

6. Do this on the new layer.

7. Change the brush size to like a 24 and change the two colors to a darker color (just move the color selector down a little)

8. Now, create a new layer and move it down so that its between the first layer and the bottom background layer. Just brush a little below the first one you did so it gives the effect of leafs in the back also. Change it to an opacity of 50% or whichever fits the colors you choose.

9. Create a new layer. Change the brush to the SECOND one above the leaf so that it is the single grass brush. (look at above picture). Use the colors #9ecd6b and #48941f to do this.

10. Now, again, create a new layer. Choose two darker colors and do this.

11. Select “Layer 3″ if you haven’t renamed them or anything and use the dodge tool (O) on the leafs in the top left corner to make it brighter so it looks like the sun is shining through. Use the dodge tool on “Layer 2″ and do the same thing. Now, select the burn tool and use it on the right side of the leafs on “Layer 2″ also.

12. Once done, right click on “Layer 3″ and select Merge Down. It should now be called “Layer 1.”

13. Now, choose the colors #a3ad4d and #5f8e32 and select the “Gradiant Tool.” Now at the top, select the one the looks like the top of the house and click on the color next the it on the left. Once there, use these settings.

14. Then, create a new layer (it should be called “Layer 6″). Once done, drag the Gradiant Tool from the top left (indent about half an inch from top and left) to about 2/3 through the image. Then, AT THE RIGHT, rearrange the layers so that they are Layer 5, 2, 6, 4, 1. Once done, u should get this.

15. Then change “Layer 6″ opacity to like 40%.

16. Select “Layer 1″ and go to Filter>Render>Lens Flare and use 125%. Place it in the corner left in the settings so it looks nice.

17. Lastly, change “Layer 4″ to like a 75% if you like.

Your pretty much done. Now you can add whatever you like. I hope you guys enjoyed it. Thanks.
