Let’s take a look the first and most basic of the  Photoshop  tutorials.

You’ll learn the first basic steps in the use of the interface, and the various options found in its file menu. You’ll learn how to use the palette in the  Photoshop  file browser and how to make the best use of the image window and the zoom and hand tools.

Palette shortcuts and the palette navigator are lessons include in the  Photoshop  tutorials, as well as a demonstration of the use of preferences and recipes.

The next part of these beginner  Photoshop  tutorials teaches the use of the application’s tools. This is where you learn about the tool palette, the lasso and marquee tools, and the magnetic lasso.

The tutorial teaches you the use of the magic wand tool, as well as the crop and type tools and the vector based shapes. The  Photoshop  airbrush, paint bucket, and tools fro gradient and penciling are all taught in this CD too.

Photoshop  also has an eraser, a magic eraser, a brush that lets you paint like the Impressionist artists, and a clone tool. You’ll learn the techniques for the use of each. You’ll also be taught how to sharpen, sponge, smudge and blue, and how to dodge and burn.

Photoshop  basic tutorials wouldn’t be complete without lessons on image management, in which the artist learns to size the image and the canvas, how to rotate and to work with the various modes of the image and make adjustments to them.

Levels of contrast and brightness are learned, as well as the use of fill flash and backlighting. You’ll also master variations and color replacement in this CD.

Next on the  Photoshop  tutorials list are layers – the basic and the management of layers, the concepts and techniques of locking, transparencies, the creation of layers, and the selection of transparencies. You learn about clipping groups, about the various styles of layers, and transforms for bounding boxes.

Blending modes will be taught, and the ins and outs of fill and adjustment layers, and the techniques of flattening, merging and renaming the  Photoshop  layers.

Other basic  Photoshop  tutorial techniques you’ll learn include filter applications such as browsers and blue, mask and liquefy filters. You’ll learn about photomerge, image selection tools, options in the select menu, the automate feature, saving files and for the Web as well as Web animation.
