Download Photo Editing Software

The internet has made it possible for us to stay in our homes but still get all of the software we need. Some free, which we would never see in stores, and others cost money. But usually the amount is less than anything we would normally see in stores.

Before you jump right into downloading photo editing software you need to figure a few things, such as system requirements, available space, and how often you are going to use it / how computer literate you may be.

So, let’s get going. What are you planning on using the software for?

This is the number one question. If you plan on using it only for small changes to a photo such as removing red eye or getting rid of small blemishes in your photos then you might want to start off with a free software. Google has a great program called Picasa. It is 100% absolutely free. You can do pretty much all of the basics and then some. However, this software is limited to it’s capability. If you know you are going to be doing some extreme changes to a picture then you may want to quickly change your decision and start deciding which paid photo editing software is right for you. Adobe Photoshop CS5 is by far the greatest. It can do absolutely anything you can think of. These features come with a very large price. Ranging from 400-700 dollars. You can sometimes find coupons online and every now and then Adobe has sales which is why the price varies so much. So make sure if you do plan on buying Photoshop that you shop around.

What are the requirements for you computer?

Before you download photo editing software you need to know if your computer is capable of running the software at a decent speed. This can all be checked in “My Computer” in Windows. Start by going into your computer and check the available hard drive space. If it is over 1GB FREE then you are most likely fine. Next you want to check your System Memory (RAM) you want to make sure you have at least 1GB of system memory (RAM). If you are running Windows 7 you will need more because when it comes to memory Windows 7 is a hog. If you have Windows 7 you will need to have at least 2GB of system memory (RAM) to properly, effectively, and efficiently run photo editing software.

Now that you know everything required before you download photo editing software you should be able to make the right decision. By making the right decision, you are guaranteed to be happy with your software. Whether you chose to buy a program, or pick up a free version, either way you will be well on your way to editing photos from anywhere.
