American Idol Season 9 Premiere, Most Anticipated Series of 2010

The highly anticipated ninth season of “American Idol” is almost here. It will be premiering on prime time Fox on January 12, 2010. All of the judges including Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Kara DioGuardi will be returning with a surprising fourth addition, Ellen DeGeneres. In fact, this super zealous talk show host and comedian will permanently be replacing Paula Abdul as an official judge.

As a result, Paula may be cast as a regular on the American version of the U.K.’s hit talent show called “X-Factor” which is produced by Simon Cowell. Because of this, many guest judges will make an appearance during initial auditions. These celebrities include Katy Perry, Neil Patrick Harris, Victoria Beckham, Avril Lavigne, Joe Jonas, Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain, and Kristn Chenoweth.

Auditions were held in cities all over the country as usual. These cities include Foxborough, Atalnta, Chicago, Arlington, Los Angeles, Orlando, and Denver.

Along with American Idol, “Idol Gives Back” will also be returning this season. It will be held on April 21st during the top seven results show. Of course the top 24 semi-finalists format will be making its return as well.

As the show has exploded as a world wide success, broadcasts are taking place all over the globe following its American  premiere  on January 12th. The United Kingdom will begin broadcasting on the 13th and 14th and play on a same-day delay basis directly following the American broadcast. Asia will also begin on January 13th via the STAR World satellite. In Singapore, the show will come live on the 13th as well via MediaCorp’s Channel 5. And the Philippines will be tuning in on the same day via free-to-air channels. In the Arab world American Idol will also be broadcast on the free-to-air channel MBc4.
