Adobe Photoshop 6 Video Tutorials

While there are a number of different computer software programs that allow you to create and edit images for personal and business use, none remains more widely used than  Photoshop . Developed by Adobe Systems,  Photoshop  continues is the primary software program utilized by graphic design artists, advertising agencies, web developers, publishing companies and photographers for their image and graphic needs. Many graphic design degree programs have now incorporated the use and mastery of Adobe  Photoshop  in their curriculum in order to equip students with the knowledge and know-how on utilizing this software program as opposed to other graphic design programs available in the market today.

Because of the extensive use of  Photoshop  for both personal and business use, there have been many different books and articles published focusing on teaching people on how to maximize the potentials of this wonderful graphics design and imaging software program. While these books and articles are indeed helpful and useful especially for beginners who are just learning the ropes with regards to the basics of  Photoshop  6, more and more beginners have begun to favor video tutorials than those where the instructions are just written down.

Just like print tutorials, video tutorials are segregated to focus on a particular task. The difference between the two is that video tutorials are more visual oriented. Instead of merely reading the instructions provided, you are shown exactly just how a particular task is completed. Because of this, video tutorials can be able to utilize a number of different examples in order to help you understand the procedures on how to be able to complete a particular task in  Photoshop . This allows beginners to learn more about the basics with regards to the task being taught at a much faster rate as compared to just merely reading through the instructions. Beginners can have the option to stop the video at various points in time to allow them to do the instructions as it has been demonstrated in the video. In effect, video tutorials regarding the different things that you can do using the  Photoshop  software programs is the closest that one could have on sitting in a classroom and being guided by an instructor.

The great thing about utilizing video tutorials is that beginners may be able to attempt more advanced projects depending on their ability to learn and grasp the different tools and procedures used in Adobe  Photoshop . Because they use examples to be able to explain the procedure step-by-step, people who are using the software program for the very first time would be able to see just how easy it is to do seemingly complicated projects in a few simple steps.

Photoshop  6 video tutorials can be found all over the Internet. Free video hosting websites such as YouTube have a number of different videos to teach you the basics on the many different things that you can do with the use of Adobe  Photoshop . The best part of this is that many of these video tutorials are free to view so you do not need subscribe to access them.

Effective Photoshop Training Course to Enhance Your Photos

Adobe Photoshop is the hottest photo editing software program on the market today. Regardless of your photography skills Photoshop has something for everyone and will definitely turn your drab photos into something spectacular.

Why?

Upon installation of the program you will have at your fingertips all the tools you will need to edit, enhance, and alter your photographs. The sheer number of tools available guarantees that everyone will have what they need to create new or alter their existing photographic images.

Using Photoshop you can easily turn ordinary photos into extraordinary photographs. You may be wondering what sort of problems can Photoshop fix?

The most common problem any photographer faces is the dreaded “red eye”. Red eye usually is from the light of the flash reflecting through the pupil of the subject back to lens of the camera. Even with the strides in today’s technology even the most expensive SLR camera on the market today will have this problem. However, built into Photoshop is a one-click tool that can identify and eliminate red eye.

The amazing thing is that Photoshop will even remove red eyes from photos of your favorite pet.

Dark lighting is no longer a problem as Adobe Photoshop brightness and contrast tools allow you to create clearer and brighter photos. While the program can do many amazing things, its primary purpose is to clean up your photographs. Flash too bright or no flash at all? Using the sliders in the brightness and contrast option box you can make your photo look as if it were taken in perfect lighting conditions. Hopefully you are recognizing that using Photoshop you can take a photo that you might normally discard and turn it into something that is amazing.

One trick that I use often is the crop tool. Undoubtedly you have photos of your friends however there is always some stranger lurking about and you want to eliminate them, with Photoshop this is no problem at all. You can also preserve the texture of your image using the clone tool so no one will know you removed an object. This tool is also amazing at erasing facial imperfections, giving your subjects that “model perfect” quality.

Admittedly no one enjoys seeing close-ups of themselves. When attempting them you will often hear complaints about bags under their eyes, wrinkles, even the color of their skin. Edit these out like the pros do using Photoshop.

It’s the tools available in Photoshop that make most of the models you see in print ads look so amazing!

These are only a small portion of the things you can do using Adobe Photoshop. Make use of this program and your own creativity to come up with extraordinary results. If you desire to have gallery quality photos it is to your benefit to add Photoshop to your arsenal of tools. Use Photoshop to make your ordinary photos extraordinary!

Photoshop"s Basic Operations - Working With Images

Adobe Photoshop may seem confusing when you first begin using it. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with it, remember this: It is just a normal program like any other. You open it, edit files, save files and close it. Of course, there’s a lot more to it than that, but the best way to do it is to take it one small piece at a time.

Tips On Working With Images

You work with individual image files in Photoshop. Each of these files will be saved as a specific file format such as .jpeg or .gif. If you wish to change the file format (from .gif to .jpeg for example) in which an image is saved you will need to change it by using the Save As function to create a new file. While saving the image you will have a drop down box at the bottom that will allow you to select how the file will be saved.

It is important to note that you never want to open or edit an image directly from a removable device such as your camera or a flash drive. You must always move the file you wish to edit to your local hard drive before opening or editing it with Photoshop. This will save you from the possibility of losing your work due to a problem reading from or writing to a removable device.

Saving Your Images and Files

To save your images in Photoshop you will have to use the Save or Save As command. It is important to note that once you save and close a file, that those changes are permanent and can not be undone.

My best recommendation to avoid permanently changing a file for the worse is to work on a copy of your file. To do this, simply save a backup copy to your hard drive and work on it instead of your original file. This way, if you make an error, you still have the original image to return to.

Bring Color to Your Photo Using Photoshop

Color brings life to your photo. Colors immediately draws people’s attention and most of the time we uses color as a way to communicate a message.

If you feel that your picture is dull and needs some life then you can bring life to it. You can be artistic just by adding color. You can do all this by using Photoshop to edit your picture.

Now, in this tutorial, I’m going to teach you how to bring color to your picture. It’s only going to be basic because I want to make it easier to follow for the beginners.

To start, open your Photoshop then go to File and select Open, after that choose the picture you wish to edit.

First, make the picture or the image darker by going to Image then select Adjustment then go to Levels. Next you will see a dialog box then move the black slider to the right to make the image darker.

After that, duplicate the photo by going to layer palette then drag the image layer to Create New Layer icon or to make it easier just press Ctrl + J. Once you duplicate the photo turn the layer to black and white. In that way, it will make the photo more contrast.

  • Go to Image then Adjustment and select Hue/ Saturation.

Once again go back to the Levels; just repeat the above mention steps to create the photo darker, but you can move the other slider to make adjustments. Afterward, change the blending mode of the image to Screen.

  • Go to Layer Palette located at the right side tool menu then at the top you will see a drop down box then select Screen.

Now, you can see that the image became brighter and different. After that, create a new layer and change the foreground color and background color to blue and light blue.

  • Go to Layer Palette then select the Create New Layer icon.

  • Then go to the right side tool menu and look for the two squares over lapping each other. Click the square and change the color.

Next, random clouds to the layer.

  • Go to Filter then click Render and select Clouds

To apply the layer’s color to the layer below change the blending mode to Overlay.

  • Go to the layer Palette then at the top you will see a drop down box then select Overlay.

Then make the entire layer as one. You can flatten the layer or press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + E to get the result of all the underneath layers.

  • To flatten the image layer, go to Layer then Flatten Image.

After that, change the blending mode of the image to softer light. Just repeat the step on how to change the blending mode. And lastly, change the brightness and contrast mode of your photo. Just go to Image then Adjustment and select Brightness/ Contract. Feel free to adjust, once you see that it looks good then click on Ok.

If you want a better result, just experiment with the tools on your Photoshop and keep on practicing.

Photoshop software is ideal if you want to retouch digital images, apply special effects to your images and will also help you prepare photographs for the web. If you need to resize images, add filters and styles, Adobe Photoshop is the software for you.

Adobe has created many different forms of Photoshop, but the for the amateur photographer or the professional who is new to digital photography Elements 2 is very easy to understand and comes with a low price tag and a host of creative tools that help with image manipulation.

The brushes available in Photoshop give a massive choice for retouching images. Images are adjusted by painting with the brushes over the area you want to change. Red eye in a image can be removed in less that two minutes. Items can be removed from an image. For poor quality images there is a sharp tool to sharpen certain areas of an image.

There are 15 types of file format that you can save your images to, giving you the possibility of creating images for a large amount of different projects. This includes images for the web, for slideshows, and for many different forms of printing.

Photoshop elements also help you create images for the web easily. Most photographers at some time during their career will want to create a website, and with Photoshop, preparing images is simple. It also helps you to resize images that are being attached to an e-mail.

Creating a web gallery can be a lot of work but Photoshop can open a group of images, resize them, create a thumbnail gallery and create all the navigation HTML buttons for your site. It will create a folder for your web files and save it on your computer.

Elements 2 also contains a slide show, which is a convenient way of presenting images. Slideshow presentations are saved in PDF format making them easy to e-mail or download. To view a slideshow you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer.

Also included in Photoshop is a video frame capture tool. This allows you to capture any frame from a video and save it as a stand-alone image. Images created for frame capture can be edited the same as any standard image.

Where the need to edit colour is great, Photoshop has a wide range of tools that will help. Colour images can be turned into black and white shots in less than five minutes. You can also add filters to images to warm them up or create different tones.

The most important part of Photoshop is the Toolbox. This contains all the editing tools that allow you to burn, dodge, clone, blur, sharpen or smudge an image. This box also contains handy tools to crop and zoom in on an image.

There are many artists world wide who make a living by retouching images with advanced image software. Learning how to use Photoshop correctly will be a massive boast to your digital photography, and if you are a keen photographer it should become part of your digital darkroom.

Photoshop - Sky Captain Movie Photo Effect

In this Photoshop tutorial I’ll be explaining how to duplicate the effect you see all throughout the movie “Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow.” The whole film has a monotonous feel, with faux film-grain and glamorous softening throughout. Giving it a gritty but yet surprisingly plastic aesthetic that I haven’t seen in any other movie so far, excluding the movie “Sin City” which came close.

Step 1

Start off by finding a picture you’re wanting to add this effect to and open it or add it into an existing Photoshop document.

Step 2

Duplicate the picture layer then select the newly duplicated layer and go to Filters>Blur>Gaussian blur, The formula I used is 1.0 of gaussian blur per 100 pixels of image, So 500×500 is 5.0 Gaussian blur.

Step 3

Set the Layer mode on the duplicated layer to ‘Overlay’ for a Harder more saturated image, Or ‘Soft Light’ for the opposite.

Step 4

Select the original picture layer and Open the Hue & Saturation (CTRL + U).

Start turning down the saturation bar,

Until you get it to where it looks about right.

It should be fairly low on the bar, because the image should get most of its color from the duplicated layer.

Step 5

Duplicate the Blurred layer and go to Filter>Noise>Add Noise. Drag the bar all the way to the right, Make sure Monochromatic is checked and then click OK. Now set this Layer’s Layer mode to Soft Light and drop the Opacity down to about 10%.
